French group (furniture and decorative retailer) with a presence throughout Spain and Portugal turns to our independent brokerage for the optimization of its insurance program. The management of the Iberian subsidiary also decided to make "the competition between brokers play" by appointing another insurance intermediary from among the three "large" brokerages present in the Spanish market (hereinafter, the brokerage "X"). The total amount of premiums paid by the company for its three insurance policies (damage, civil liability and transport of goods) amounts to around €800,000. We quickly find ourselves with the following difficulty: the insurers from whom we request a quote refuse to contribute for the benefit of brokerage X with which they have signed priority internal agreements. Upon submission of its final report, brokerage X offers the Iberian subsidiary a single risk-based insurance product (damage, liability and transport) for a total amount of approximately EUR 820,000. Without the possibility of comparing with other proposals, the management of the Iberian subsidiary asks the brokerage X to communicate to it another insurance proposal for the damage policy whose premium proposed by X amounts to EUR 680 000. X will communicate to the customer the proposal of another insurer for an identical amount of EUR 680 000. In this case, obviously, our main challenge was to find an insurer with sufficient solvency and capacity to manage a large chain of stores and warehouses throughout Spain, which can quickly deal with a frequency of claims, and which can provide a good service in Portugal. After meticulous and persevering work, we managed to offer the Iberian subsidiary a complete and tailor-made insurance program with a top-level insurer, rated A+ (excellent) by AM BEST, making a final savings in premiums of 200,000 EUR per year. Since then, we have managed the entire insurance program for Spain and Portugal and we are your trusted mediator, providing service in the daily management, as well as in claims.
